Named after freedom fighter Khan Abdul Jaffar Khan, Present known Khan market shop keepers were refugees of partition but its now transformed into one of the cities most premium market
But I was there for an offbeat reason I wanted to buy one particular book called wolf totem you might have guess where I was headed shop name was ‘bahrisons booksellers’ my quest of this book started long ago, After I read alchemist I found my favorite genre of books ie travelling and wolf totem was one into it but much about the book tho I’m here to talk about experience
I hopped into Janpath station and travelled my way over to Khan market station, suprised by the width of this metro that was considerably lesser than the ones in blue line
At station I asked station master where’s the gate number 4 is which was closest to Khan market according to google and headed outsided, welcomed by cool breeze wheather was amazing spring was at its full bloom, I loved it
After few moments of confusionness of new places I found my way reassured by mercedes and electric BMW’s I was convinced I’m heading towards right direction
It wasn’t as big as I thought it would be but the crowd seemed ultra rich by the outfits and by the cars offcourse.
Suprised by the small size square size of it I found my destination
I hoped into the store with some nervousness of a new place in my mind
Shop was small and congested but we’re filled with the peacefulness of books and book readers who came in search for them, everything was considerably small on this small trip first the train then market and now bookstore even my quest among many books I want to read book was reduced to one!
I asked the keeper about it he couldn’t find wolf totem on records shop seemed busy soon keeper was accompanied by an Italian man he wanted some book from his country.
Nevertheless I roamed around shop saw overpriced tags and thought why it’s so famous
prints of the articles claiming shop being popular were all over the place, It was the first very bookstore I ever visited so I had nothing to compare it with.
Soon enough I walked out still contemplating what makes some places so famous but to know that I guess I have to continue my quests :D
